Privacy

 Privacy

Privacy is very rare,

When it seems private, you have to share.

It’s especially hard with little ones,

Who think they have a right to everyone’s,

Secrets and stories,

And sadness and glories,

Maybe one day I’ll have privacy,

To sort out my fears and anxiety,

But for now I will have to sit under the table,

Or in the smelly horse’s stable.

Behind the sofa to hide my tear,

Without little ones that interfere.

I always wish for a secret room,

Under the floor, like a desolate tomb,

Where I can write, or read or think,

Where thoughts abound, and paper and ink.

How blissful privacy must be.
