My Window

Looking out my window,
Draped with curtains, velvet bow.
Across the city twinkling,
Filling with tears, my eyes start blinking.
Thinking of my brother,
Gone forever, like my mother.
Now I'm all alone,
To roam this city now I'm prone.

Looking out my window,
My heart so full of woe.
Over to the barren hills,
My spine does shake with chills.
Where the nomads sleep in tents,
Wafting nearer, lovely scents.
Oh, how I long to be with they,
So free and wild, every day.

But the world does tells me no,
And to bed I now must go.
That I belong in the woe-begone city,
Singing songs, and this tragic ditty.
I must leave be my imagination,
And put away my mad frustration.
So from my window now I trudge,
Back to my life, never to budge.
