Childhood

Childhood
Childhood is like a dream,
With blissful happiness, like ice cream.
Yes, bad things happen, but when they do,
A mother is there to comfort you.

Childhood is the start of a walk,
Happily soaring like a hawk.
And when you fall, as you sometimes do,
A father is there to catch hold of you.

Childhood is the start of life,
With ups and downs,
And sometimes strife.
But loving arms will hold you close,
From the roaring lions and scary ghosts.

For even though you might not know,
Someone loves you, so much so,
That when you’re sad or cross or mad,
They will wrap their arms around you and say ‘please be glad.’
