Thunderbolt
Thunderbolt
intro
By the time he was back, his son had come home from school and dinner was on the table. The Turnips sat down to eat dinner silently. "Did you feed the horse?" Misses Turnip asked, placing her fork next to her plate. "Yes" silence fell again. Dinner was always silent at Cozy Ripple, no one knows why. As the sun sank lower, Miss Turnip decided to clean up, first she ordered her sun to bed then she began her nightly clean. None of the Turnips knew that at that very moment Thunderbolt was escaping. Neither did they know that tonight something very strange would happen to them. Something that would be all over the news, Something that would take away their most prized and beloved possession, their house.

intro
In a small valley, where nobody goes lived a man and a woman who nobody knows. There names were Misses and Mr. Turnip. They lived in a old little cottage called Cozy Ripple. There farm stretched across the entire valley and their corn fields were larger then soccer courts. In a rather dense and bushy part of the valley stood an old crumpled horse stable, the wood was rotted and the poor horse that lived there had to crouch in the most unusual way, as not to hit her head on the low roof. The horses name was Thunderbolt, that is if you could call her a horse at all. She was only just old enough to ride, and was still small for her age. She was untrained, she had never been ridden. Sometimes it felt like she was forgotten. Sometimes weeks would go by before anyone even came to refill her trough, that was why her bones stuck out from beneath her skin, and why the was as skinny as a twig.
Thunderbolt
would gaze out
the window of her
stable, waiting
for someone to show up.
She was lonely
and she was trapped,
for not once in her
life had she been outside
of her prison like stable
Chapter One
"Have you fed that horse of yours dear?" Cried miss Turnip over the sound of the radio. Mr. Turnip turned it of "Um, no, not recently" He said. He stood up, he'd better go do it right away, or Miss Turnip would pester him all afternoon. He collected the half empty bag of hay and set of. The horse lived a good two kilometers away from Cozy Ripple and he wanted to get home before dark. The tall trees blocked the sun out and a chill ran down Mr. Turnips spine. Slowly he made his way to the stable. Once he got there he was covered in cuts and his hair was filled with leaves. He emptied the bag of hay carelessly into the trough. Thunderbolt whinnied. But Mr. Turnip didn't care about animals and so without another glance he strode of back to Cozy Ripple.By the time he was back, his son had come home from school and dinner was on the table. Chapter 2
Thunderbolt ate her fill of hay happily. She watched the sun vanish and the sky turn dark. Soon everything was engulfed in darkness. Like always, she could here wild horses drinking from a dam nearby, they always came out at night. And what Thunderbolt wanted the most was to be with them. What would it be like to be free? She always thought. But tonight she couldn't bare it. She was stronger after eating, and the stable was so rotted that if she kicked a few times it would certainly come toppling down. So with all the strength she could muster, Thunderbolt kicked as hard as she could at the door of the stable. It shuddered, she kicked again, and again. The stable snapped and the whole thing came toppling on top of her. Buried in rotten wood, Thunderbolt struggled and soon was free. It was so strange to not have walls around her. She cantered in delight. She was free! She started to run, she had to go to the dam. She ran as fast as she could, there was so much space, to move and to jump. She ran and jumped. She was free at last.Thank you for reading! This was written by Mudga! Hope you liked it!
